Antiqua coffee growers are at an advantage when it comes to coffee bean production, since quality coffee depends on the variety of coffee tree, soil, weather and altitude. Coffee plantations are 4,000 to 6,000 feet above sea level, while our beans are grown in volcanic soil that is unique to the region. The surrounding weather provides a distinctive micro climate that gives a natural mist to the air allowing our bean to flourish.
Cafe Chapin is handcrafted in small batches. Beans are first dried under the sun and then are slowly roasted by an artisan roastmaster who knows the exact moment the beans have reached their full depth of flavor. With the perfect combination of acidity and mild notes of fruit our bean have a rich mellow flavor and aroma that will transport you. One taste will evoke the sense that you too are in Antiqua Guatemala, on a cobblestone street, at a cafe, savoring each sip of our coffee.
